The Teacher - Katerina Diamond

You think you know who to trust? You think you know the difference between good and evil? You’re wrong... The body of the head teacher of an exclusive Devon school is found hanging from the rafters in the assembly hall. Hours earlier he’d received a package, and only he could understand the silent message it conveyed. It meant the end. As Exeter suffers a rising count of gruesome deaths, troubled DS Imogen Grey and DS Adrian Miles must solve the case and make their city safe again. But as they’re drawn into a network of corruption, lies and exploitation, every step brings them closer to grim secrets hidden at the heart of their community. And once they learn what’s motivating this killer, will they truly want to stop him?

REVIEW

I started this book in like may last year according to my goodreads, i think i must of read maybe a chapter then put it down. After hearing good things i decided to pick the book back up and wow. It was incredible i crammed it into every spare minute i had to finish it.

When the headteacher of an exclusive school is found hanged from the rafters, its a shocking discovery, but even more so - the parcel he recieved just before, with a message meant only for him. As DS Miley and Grey set about looking into the case, as more gruesome deaths arise, there is only so much digging they are allowed to do.

This book is deep and dark, i thought it was just a thriller, so i was initally shocked by the shere horror of some of the crimes, but then when i realised it was a crime thriller i got past that. Written from different characters perspectives both in the past and the present it really does give you an insight into everything that is happening.

It was twisted and horrific (but in the way you want a book to be!) and both DS Miles and Grey work really well together and i loved the bond between them so i look forward to more of them.

I had figured it out by about 60 percent - who dont it and all that, but that didnt make it any less emjoyable, at all. I had so many questions that i needed answered.

RATING
5/5
