Review
I havent read a historical romance in, in fact its been that long i'm not even sure i have. So when this one dropped in my inbox i knew it was going to tick all the boxes for me. I was right, it did. It was FANTASTIC.
The Duchess Deal follows The Duke Of Ashbury (Ash) who arrives back from war, loses his soon to be wife as she cannot deal with his injuries and somehow still has to deal with been a Duke. So when Emma comes barging through his door demanding her pay for the dress she made his ex-fiancee he sees a chance. A chance to continue his line to the throne. A deal - A marriage of convience.
Emma is a wonderful woman, she is strong, independant and has her own rules. I warmed to her straight away, she counteracted every part of the deal the Duke requested, yes it was to be a marriage of convience but she still wanted a life and a chance to know the man she would marry. As the pair grow closer though, the rules change - alot. Ash tries very hard to right up, but Emma will stop at nothing to help those around her be it Ash or her friends, she is loyal through and through.
The Duchess Deal is a wonderful read and it wasnt just a case of boy meets girl, well girl meets Duke - it was much more, it had me swooning (when Ash wasnt been an ass) he could make anyone weak at the knees. It had me laughing as Emma stood up to the man she was falling in love with. It was heartwarming and perfect whilst we have been having those snowy evenings.
